best book?

Hi,

What's the best book to learn asp.net?
I've got some ASP knowledge and now want to expand to asp.net

I'm not looking for a reference book, rather and How-To with
step-by-step examples perhaps.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Jerome

i'm not sure about books, but on the web, www.asp.net and www.gotdotnet.com
are good places to start with forums, tutorials, and examples on alot of
things.

I to code in ASP but learned asp.net via the web by looking at examples,
code, and tutorials.

Hi,

Professional ASP.NET by Alex Homer, Dave Sussman, Rob Howard (Wrox Press) is
pretty good one. Generally ASP.NET Unleashed by Stephen Walther (Pearson
Education) is considered to be the best book on the market.

I am currently reading "Programming Microsoft .NET" by Jeff Prosise,
Microsoft Press. I am finding it to be very clear so far, with good
examples. I have extensive ASP experience, and was able to skip to the
middle of the book without any problems.

I always prefer the Wrox books: Professional ASP .NET 1.0. It
provides a comprehensive "How-To" style for ASP .NET. You can look
for it at http://www.wrox.com
