Hi,
I just started using access.
I have a fairly simple data base that contains 2 identical tables:
Table 1 contains data from the previous week and Table 2 contains data
for the current week. Some Data (name of customer)may appear in both
tables.
I know how to make a query that will give the data that appears in Both

Hi,
I need to put a asterisk (*) infront of and after a text box so for example
*1234* . I have tried but access keeps thinking its part of the actual
field. For those interested the reason is I need to put an asterisk infront
of and behind a Code 39 barcode for the scanner to read it.

Hi,
I just wanted to ask if someone can give me examples of the common
database server interfaces. I am getting confused if ODBC, JDBC, OLE
are some of the interfaces or if APIs are considered to be interfaces
to the database servers. I appreciate all the replies I will receive
from this post. Thanks.

Hello,
In my previous post, I wanted to ask if someone knows some examples of

just wanted to have an idea on this topic. Thank you in advance for the

I have a form that's based on a query. I'm trying to make the form
only accept hours worked if there is a pay rate already entered in
another form. If not the form will return a message box notifiying the
user that there is no corresponding pay rate for the hours entered,
then return the fields to null values. The problem is that my code...

I open a report with a button on a form and I'd like to have the report
open to the last page. I tried using sendkeys and it works when I
manually open the report from Reports on the msaccess screen, but when
I use the button on the form the report opens to the first page. It
looks like the problem there is that the sendkeys command is...

I'm running a query - MS Access 2000.
Available space on C: is about 9 gigs, but I notice that the query
seems to die with that error just about the time that JET3C27.TMP hits
two gigs.
Could JET3C27 be a .MDB in disguise?

I've got a report with a subreport linked on fund number. The
subreport returns 2 columns of dollar amounts, both current and YTD,
by object code for the selected fund number. The user can select one
or many funds.
I create a query for the subreport's recordsource in the open event.
My problem is that if there's more than one fund number,...

Hi
I hope you bare with me on this - I want to highlight a record in a
subform, whose data is based on a query. I.e. I want the marker to
jump to the record that has the field = 23235 for instance.
I've tried several solutions I found when searching the forum, but
none worked. I have a main form, containing a text box where I enter

I know that you can enable/disable the close and max/min buttons on a form
by using the form properties. Is there a way that you can disable the close
buttons on an entire database, so the user would have to close the database
through a button on the form?
thanks for you help in advance.

I'm running Access 97 on Windows 98. I need to make large tables and
queries with approaching but not exceeding 225 fields (columns). Access
is giving me a "too many fields" message when I try to save the table or
query although there are fewer than 255 fields. Sometimes it works and
sometimes it doesn't. For example, I was able to create one...

In regards to my previous posted mail on this topic: thanks for the
feedback. The 30% is told to me by a collegea. .NET is not my working area,
but it's something our company provides. So i'm just looking for our
options.
Besides the 30% more work issue I'm mostly interested in the possibility of

Wondering if it's possible to have a select number of choices to appear
in a list box based on a user's login id?
So, for example user1 logins in and sees 3 reports listed in the
listbox (Report 1, 2, and 3). On the other hand, when user 2 logins in
he only sees 2 reports (Report 5 and 6).
Is this possible at all?

Shocks. Today I came to learn that Suns jdbc-odbc bridge driver isn't
meant for serious purposes; it's experimental. I already knew it isn't
thread safe, but didn't think of this as problematic for the relatively
simple system I'm using it. However, I suspect there are other issues.
Currently I'm stuck with a query which takes less than one...
