SS7 to Oracle 9i Migration Problems

I've been breaking my head over this one for a couple of weeks now.

The source database is an MS-SQL Server 7 database living on a Windows
NT server; the destination is an Oracle 9i database living on Solaris
9.

I've been trying to use the Oracle Migration Workbench to migrate the
database, but after two weeks, I have had no success. At every
attempt, I get the following error:

"failed to map index :
oracle.mtg.migr ation.Migration SQLException: ORA-01400: cannot insert
NULL into ("SA"."OM_INDEX _INFO"."TABLE_N AME") :ORA-01400: cannot
insert NULL into ("SA"."OM_INDEX _INFO"."TABLE_N AME")"

This is just the first in approximately 750 similar errors.

I admit that I am at a loss. If anyone can offer any guidance, I
would greatly appreciate it.

Hi, I am sure if anyone can help me, you guys can! I am an Informix Developer, moving to Oracle 8i and later databases. I am struggling to find the Oracle equivelant to many of the useful Informix features that I have come to rely upon. I have looked through the Oracle/Infomix groups and some helpful users have posted some solutions, but many of them seem to be very complex work-arounds for features that were readily available in

I'm having some migration problems. On Friday, I upgraded from DB2 7.2 (FP9) to DB2 8.2 (FP7), then applied Fixpack 8. I'm running Windows XP. My migrations did not work and I am trying to fix them manually. The Control Center gives me SQL0535 for some of the databases and SQL1039C for the others. I'll describe the SQL0535 problems in this note and make a separate post for SQL1039C.

I need some help with migration. As I mentioned in my previous post, I am having migration problems after updating DB2 7.2 to DB2 8.2 and then applying FP8. I am running on Windows XP. None of my databases migrated successfully during the upgrade to version 8 of DB2. Some are returning SQL5035N when I look at them in the Control Center; I am trying to migrate these manually but encountering problems; I've mentioned them in my previous...

All. We have LOT of variables declared in the Oracle package as ORACLE CONSTANTS like, v_test CONSTANT INTEGER=1; When converting to DB2, MTK changes each of these CONSTANTs into functions. This typically increased the count of the functions.

Recently we migrated our product from MS-SQL 2000 to Oracle 9i. We see lot of performance degradation due to migration. Some times complex queries are hitting 10 fold slower than SQL Server. Reasons could be, 1.The Oracle Server with respect to configuration may have issues. 2.The SQL server optimized queries are not suitable for Oracle(The normal cases, such as datatypes, syntax etc are already taken care). Any help on this is...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
