How to list all installed data sources?

I'm writing a program that allows users to import their data into our
system. The data can come from any datasource installed on the users PC,
eg Access, Excel, SQL, Text Files, etc..

Is there a way to get a list of all the installed data sources? I'd like
to be able to provide a list like the one used in DTS (Sql2000). Is this
possible?

I'm running XP. Is it required that a given ODBC driver be selected or set somehow as a default driver? Look at this... Here's the error: Error: ODBC call failed... Datasource not found and no default ODBC driver specified. I think I can work my way around the Datasource, but the default driver thing (#0) - dunno?

Hello, A section in Data Sources window is mystifying to me. In the case of my code the Data Sources window shows my references to the data access layer. First here is what I see in my Data Sources window ... ( means expandable, means expanded, is a checked checkbox, "QmsDataLayer" is the name of the referenced data layer.)

Hi, I am trying to populate a list control that is bound to a data table but the display member needs to come from a different data table. I have two list controls in C#, one displaying available categories and one displaying selected categories. In the database these are represented in two tables, the available category table has an ID and a Name. The other table is a category links table that has an ID, Category_ID and a Book_ID.

When I open the Data Sources window and create a new data source, everything works fine. But if I have a form showing in the IDE, the Data Sources window becomes disabled and doesn't display any of the database components. Yet, when I switch to code view, I can see everything just fine. Does anyone have any idea why the Data Sources window becomes disabled when I'm viewing forms? TIA.

Hi! I want to embed a function in my python application, that creates a two-dimensional array of integers and passes it as a list (preferably a list of lists, but that is not necessary, as the python function knows the dimensions of this array). As I read the reference, I see, that I must first initialize a list object and then item-by-item put the values to the list. Is there any faster way to do it? And is it worth to implement? ...

I am using Visual Studio 2005 to create a web site which includes reports. The web site has several sub-folders. When working with reports I can't get the website data sources (classes and datasets in App_Code folders throughout the project) to behave consistently. Sometimes data source are displayed, sometimes not. Sometimes I can add new data sources, sometimes I can't. Some classes are displayed, some aren't. I can't figure...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
