What needs to be copied for Crystal to work

We have an application that is using .NET Crystal Reports. However, doing an
XCOPY of this application to a client machine does not seem to work.

What needs to be included?

I think for your first installation, you need to create an MSI that will
install the correct modules, then won't have to include it again.

I'm using Crystal.net version 9.0 in a aspx page using the CrystalReportViewer server control. When I view a report running locally on my server where I installed the crystal off the CD, the print works fine. If I view the HTML source, the print button A tag has an HREF that specifies javascript:__doPostBack However, when I view the same report on a development server where I just

I'm developing an application in VS.Net 2003 using C#, which uses Crystal Reports. When creating each report, crystal asks where the database to use is, so I specify our SQL server using the ADO option. The problem is that these database settings seem to get compiled into the report, so when we take the application to our client it won't work on their systems. Before running each report I run some code which is ment to reset the...

Hi. I am working on a program for the .NET Framework written in C# with Visual Studio .NET. With this program, one can print a report realized with the Crystal Report software included with VS .NET. This has all been working fine until recently, when I had to install and run the program on more computers. Then I suddenly start getting error messages like: 'Cannot find KeycodeV2.dll, or invalid keycode'. The .NET framework is, of...

I exported a column of type float to SQL Server using DTS. In Crystal reports, it 'sees' the column as a string! Is 'float' the best type to use? Must I create a formula field in CR to 'correct' for this?

Hello, Does anyone have any experience with 3rd Party Crystal Report viewers? I'm looking for a viewer that allows me to view reports in our web app without having crystal reports installed on the app server. Does such a thing exist? I also need the rpt files to be independant of saved data and db connection info. Thanks in advance. JS

Some years ago I wrote an application for a client in VB 5 and Crystal. The application has since been deployed by my client to many hundreds of his customers. Most of my work since then has been in Access but I now have to do major new version of the application and I am learning the MSDN version of vb.net and Crystal. I found Crystal hard work compared to Access when I used it before - has it got any better or should I look at...

Hi all, I'm new to this whole thing. I have a bunch of text files that are created by a software at work that keeps info one of our products. Each unit being calibrated gets a "record" (track by serial number) which is a text file with data. The data is almost all the same format. There is header info about the customer, then some more specs about the product then between 5 to 14 rows of calibration data. The software that controls...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
