Retrieving HANDLE from TreeView (VS2003)

Although this is in VB.NET, I don't believe it's language specific.

I have an application that has several panes (similar to Visual Studio in
the Solution Explorer - Solution, Search, Dynamic Help, Properties) etc.

One on of my panes there is a TreeView control. I'm reading XML into this
TreeView perfectly - regardless of whether the TreeView is visible or not.

However, I need to obtain the HANDLE of a TreeNode once it's inserted, and
I've discovered that IF THE TREEVIEW IS NOT VISIBLE the handle for the node
is either not created or not returned.

If the TreeView is visible when the HANDLE is requested, a valid HANDLE is

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get around this problem?

Hey guys, I have a small problem here.... I have a treeview control. I want to display a popup menu when the user right clicks on a node. This is no problem, and I am able to make the popup come out. However, when I want to perform an operation based on the node selected, I find that the node actually gets selected after the popup goes away. In other words, if I right click a random item in the treeview and the user selects an...

I do not know if there is a treeView control for web form in .NET 1.1. I know there is IE Webcontrol package which has the treeview control for ..net 1.0. I have tested it in .net 1.1 before. It did not work. About the status of it now? Is there any alternative for TreeView control for web form in .net 1.1 and Visual Studio 2003? How about .net 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005? Thank tou David

Using VS2003 C# I have a treeview control that navigates through a database in non heiarchal fashion. I start with the root node, which is just going to be the name of the database, so it will always just be that one root node. After that is expanded I will get a list of Computer Names from a particular table. WHen I expand one of those nodes I get a list of Categories pertaining to scan results. If I click on a category I get a...

Hi all, in my WinForm-Application i have a strange problem with the TreeView Control. As you can see in the samplecode below, i fill the TreeView by adding some nodes with sub nodes. (The subnodes don't matter in the first place.) After that, when i scroll totally to the bottom, the last item (the 9) rest almost totally invisable. This problem disappears, when i open (and close) one of the nodes. (The sample code uses subnodes only to...

Hi, I have a WinForms application (C#, VS 2005) that consists of a treeview control and a notify icon. Below is a complete example of this application. The treeview has one root node and one child node. When I close the form, it will not be closed but minimised to the system tray. A double-click on the notify icon wakes it up and displays it again. My expection was that the treeview handle would be destroyed when the form is sent to the...

I'm trying to write a program in C++ that gets the handles of all the visible entries in the windows taskbar. The method I've used so far is to send the TB_GETBUTTON message to the taskbar. Supposedly the window handle for an entry is in the dwData structure in the TBBUTTON structure but I'm having a hard time retrieving the handle from the structure correctly. It seems when I look at the data I've retrieved, it is not a handle (negative...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
