Load Testing Tools

Hello All,

We are developing an application using PHP and MySQL 4.0.16, that we need to
stress test. Can someone please point me to some testing tools we can use?

Thanks.

You may get a better response in the comp.software.testing newsgroup. The
answer depends upon quite a few questions being answered. Not least of which
is - how much are you prepared to spend? Also, how many concurrent users do
you want to simulate?

The biggest stress test I have run was for 6,000 concurrent users but I
believe that the highest so far is for 1.2 million concurrent users. That
was for the web site that announced the last USA presidential election
results.

I use LoadRunner from Mercury Interactive - http://merc-int.com. It's
probably the best in the world at what it does but it is also the most
expensive. For free you could try OpenSTA - http://opensta.sourceforge.net/.

Regards,
Dave.
