numbered lists

I have search results coming back and they need to be numbered.

Sounds like an ordered list...

It needs to look like this:

1. ********** line one of information
* image* line two of information
**********

the image is 2 lines high.

The top of the image needs to be aligned with the top of the numeral, to do
that I have to either float the image left or align="left"

ol img{
float: left
}

<ol>
<li> <img src="images/free.gif"> SLAVERY EPHEMERY PROVIDES LINK TO LOST
HISTORY<br />10-18/2003</li>

<li></li>
</ol>

That works fine in NS7.1, but both IE5 and Opera 7 lose the numeral (it
vanishes) .

Suggestions? Or just dump the list?

try with adding some extra right margin to img

ol img{
float: left
}

<ol>
<li> <img src="images/free.gif" style="margin-right: 20px"> SLAVERY
EPHEMERY PROVIDES LINK TO LOST
HISTORY<br />10-18/2003</li>

<li></li>
</ol>
hope it helps.

I wrote a python program on windows which needs to listen for connections on a low numbered port which works fine on windows but on linux you need to be *root* in order to listen for connections on port numbers below 1024. I really don't want to run my program as root because that would give it unnecessary access to the whole of the system. Has anyone got any suggestion on the best way to allow my program to listen on those socket...

This is a fairly simple question, but what is the easiest way to: create a new numbered column (where value is simply the row number) in an existing table and setting it as a primary key?

Hi, I have an unmanaged VC7 app calling a C# dotnet service. I'm using the VS2003 generated proxy class derived from CSoapSocketClientT. The client app works fine for most of my customers, but for some it appears to be upset by their firewall / proxy. If I use CSoapSocketClientT.SetProxy(NULL) to pick up the proxy settings from IE, attempting to call a web method fails on every second call with SOAP_CLIENT_SEND_ERROR, any idea on...

We have cards that are numbered consecutively. These cards are given out to different people in different sized batches. One group might get 5, the next group might get 20. What is a good way to set up to keep track of which numbered cards are given out, and to who?

Hi, I have a question in regards to Word VBA. In word document, there is bullet and numbering feature where you can customise the numbering. My question is whether there is a way that i can get the value of the numbering (This is for outline numbered. ). For example, Section 1. Section 2.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
