Hi, Here is my situation. Can anyone provide insight? I have developed a database in Access 2002. I am planning to distribute it as a split MDE (front) / MDB (back) to be used by the Access runtime and also full-version. Some of the client workstations will have Access 2002 installed. Most of them will have the runtime installed. However, I can't find the Office 2002 Developer Edition anywhere! Nobody has

Hi, I'm new to A2000, and to the creation of runtime applications of MS Access although I have been building database applications in A97 for some time. I have finally decided to attempt to create a Distributable Application from Access using A2000. I have the developers edition of Office. I have installed Visual Studio 6, and can run the Packaging and Deployment Wizard, but this only seems to deal with .VBP files.

Hi, in our terminal server environment only a small group of people shall be allowed to create databases using MS Access 2002. All the other users should be able to read and use the database/application created by the Office Developer Package wizard. I've tested this on one Access-database, and the package installs and works perfectly, when the users click the shortcut to the DB-application (installed by the package wizard). As you...

Apologies in advance as I am SURE this has been asked 100 times - but I haven't got a simple answer: I have MS Office XP Developer and have created an installation package (with the runtime) for an Access 2002 database. The problem: when installing on a Windows XP machine, I get the following error: The Office System Pack cannot be installed on this system because it

Hello, First off, let me say that I DO own XP Developers edition, so I do have a license to distribute the runtime. What I'm looking for is the bare bones files I need to deploy a runtime version of Access. When I use the Package and Deployment wizard, the resulting set up file is 160 Mb in size. I'd like to just package the program database and the bare minimum files needed for it to run properly. Any help would be greatly...

I have a client who is requesting the following: Description: -database should be a runtime version of MS Access so that it would not be necessary for the user to have any Microsoft products in order to operate the program. -key function is to help automate some time consuming tasks that occupy a business owner the most and join several other programs functions into one precise and easy to use system that will eliminate other bulky...

I have a desperate short term need for a way to install Access 2003 runtime on client computers. I have the proper license to do so but I cannot seem to find the files to do it like we did with the old Access 2000 Runtime. Also, I cannot use the MS Package & Deployment wizard because it won't allow us to install our app into the specific path that it must be in. It only seems to allow preset macros to define the target install path --...

A project depends on VC runtime from Visual Studio 2005 SP1, and DotNet Framework 2. Options are set in the setup project properties, so if these two dependencies are not already installed then this installer will install them. But what about the situation where VC runtime has already been installed? In fact it's been installed twice. Although the project was built on a Windows XP system with Visual Studio 2005 SP1 and the results were...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
