Hi

I'm trying to get all the xmlnodes with a defined id in the a schema:

schema node:

<xs:element name="Traffic-received" id="139">
<xs:complexType>
<xs:sequence>
<xs:element ref="Scen" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
</xs:sequence>
<xs:attribute name="uiName" type="xs:string" use="required" fixed="Traffic received (bytes/sec)"/>
<xs:attribute name="uiResultOn" type="xs:boolean" use="optional"/>
</xs:complexType>
</xs:element>

Corresponding xml node:

<Traffic-received uiResultOn="true" uiName="Traffic received (bytes/sec)">
</Traffic-received>

So I would like to make an xpath, where I specify id = 139 and thereby collect all the nodes which are identical to that node.

doc.selectnodes("????? id='139');


Is this possible? and if yes; how?

I don't believe this is entirely possible without complicated programming. You could select the elements based on purely on name.

eg, load your schema as an xml doc to variable eg say schema.
Select the element node, and then get the name attribute from that node.

If you have a namespace manager nsmgr, where xmlns:xs is defined,
str = schema.selectSingleNode("xs:element[@id=139]/@name", nsmgr).Value

then search for those documents in your original document

doc.selectNodes(str);
