The special characters in XML Document

Now a days I am working with AJAX.
So the problem I am facing that is what are the special characters in XML document I have to replace those with the XML specification.
Could anybody help this?

Whart specifications are you referring to dmjpro?

It's funny, I had a similar issue, a friend told me to build the XML tags myself and ignore the uneeded specifications certain apllications include in the XML.

The only glitch is I know how to do this in VB6, not AJAX...but it should not be too far off. Let me know...
