send an xml, very simple webservice question -PLEASE HELP!

Hi,

I have been asked to build a simple web service by Friday and wondered if someone could help me out with a couple of questions.

All I need to do is pass the contents of an XML file to another company's web service. We have told them that they will receive it in the format that we already have the xml file in so I don't need to change it at all. Would I be right in thinking that I could just build a service that reads in the desired files into strings and then passes on the string?

Or am I missing something? I have written a simple asmx hello world service. Is there any reason why I cannot just modify this to read the contents of the xml file into a string and pass that instead of the hello world text? I am just looking to send them the xml in an acceptable and standar manner.

Sorry to sound so Ignorant but I am! If any one could point me in the right direction or send me a link to an example or tutorial that would be great.

Cheers,
Joe
