How to have a variable in a xml which takes its values from a script

I have a xml which creates a name which is hard coded like
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
- <CIM CIMVERSION="2.0" DTDVERSION="2.0">
- <MESSAGE ID="2005:10:22:11:0:36:14:2534" PROTOCOLVERSION="1.0">
- <SIMPLEREQ>
<PARAMVALUE NAME="ElementName" PARAMTYPE="string">
<VALUE>x</VALUE>
</PARAMVALUE>

Here, it creates an element with name x which is hard coded.
But i want to pass 'x' as a variable which gets the value from a script having a loop to run 10 times, and every time it runs it should create elements x1,x2,x3,...x10...

Any pointer how it can be done??

1. How are you generating this xml?
2. How are you processing this xml? What instructions would need to be added in order to add an extra element into your result?
