Send Params to XSLT Client-Side Only?

P: 12
Is there a way to send a parameter/variable to my XSLT using ONLY client-side methods for normal browsers?

My host doesn't allow any server-side scripting. There are plenty of examples for doing this with ASP or PHP, or by using proprietary client-side interpreters, but this isn't allowed. I was hoping for a JavaScript or Query-String solution? Or maybe there's a way to do a double-transform and limit my data set?

What I need, is to create a small XML-based website that the general public can read. It's simply my projects list. Doing the for-each on my XML source was a snap, but I'd like users to be able to click a link in the output list and get the same XML file to generate an "expanded view" of the project.

Is it possible to send a query string along so the template knows which project to display? remember - client-side only!

Thanks for any help!

Welcome to TheScripts TSDN....

See this link, but this only applies to IExplorer. FireFox doesn't allow acces to files on client machine.

For FireFox and other browsers, see this thread

You also may need to use Ajax with xmlhttp object. to get the xml string from server.
