Element mapping in XSL to a table column.?

I am creating elements and attributes in my XSL.

I need to first map the element created with the table name?

Is this possible in XSL?

I am using Java.

For example :

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.
  2. <xsl:element name="ID">
  3.
  4. // Is it possible here to map the element name with a table column?
  5.
  6. </xsl:element>
  7.
