current-date() problems

I have a stylesheet with the following
<xsl:stylesheet version="2.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:fn="http://www.w3.org/TR/xpath-functions">
<xsl:output method="xml" encoding="UTF-8" indent="yes" omit-xml-declaration="no"/>
<xsl:variable name="today" select="fn:current-date()"/>
But when I try to apply the stylesheet in XMLSpy v4.0, I get

"XSL transformation failed due to the following error:

Namespace "http://www.w3.org/TR/cpath-functions does not contain any functions."

What am I doing wrong?
