Unable to install windows xp

Siddarth777
Hi,
I am facing a problem, recently i have upgraded my system with

1. AMD FX 4100 PROCESSOR
2. GIGABYTE 880T MOTHERBOARD
3. NVIDIA GT 520 GPU
4.Dynet RAM 4GB DDR3

but i am using the old harddisk of 160GB, when i try to reinstall windows, using the live CD, after the checking of system configuration i get this error

stating that

YOU WINDOWS HAVE ENCOUNTERED A SERIOUS PROBLEM, FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR DATA, THE PROCESS IS STOPPED

i have no idea what to do next, so i have deleted all the partitions and installed ubuntu 12.04 in 10GB partition, when i try to install windows,

i get the same error, since all the partitions are lost, it must not give any error, but still i am facing this problem

I am trying to install windows xp sp2 32 bit, but my processor is 64 bit

is that the problem?

please help me

Thanks a lot in advance

Yes that is it you can't install a 32bit s on a 64bit pc as the hardware is build diffidently, you mite get a way by using win 7.
or else , just install ubuntu and install the xp unser a virtual machine like vbox

It is not that you can't do this... it is that you have to create a setup disk with all of the divers and everything for your PC already there and ready to go during the installation.

I have read several sites that talk about doing just this thing and often the users will have had to go to the individual chip or other providers to find the correct drivers for their setup.

So, yes it is possible to setup a a WIN-XP(32) on a 64bit machine, but is not an easy task and requires much more information and detailed instructions than can be provided here.

Respectfully, use a good search engine on the terms:
Install "Windows XP 32 Bit" on 64 bit processor you will have to wade thru a few cruddy results; however, there are a few out there with some nice step by step on how they did this bit of Magic!
