Blue screen of death can't boot even in safe mode

P: 1
Blue screen says critical error then it says system dump. I try to restart in safe mode and it still won't let my hp boot up. I am running vista and don't have a disk. A friend gave me a copy of windows 7. But I am scared to install it because I have a lot of pictures and videos of my kids when they are babies that I don't have copies of and don't want ro take the chance of loosing them. What can I do to fix my laptop

There's not going to be much you can do. It will be near impossible to find the origin of the error and then to fix it. Just install the windows 7 on a new hard drive, connect the old hard drive and copy the files over.

hope its helpful to you...

Boot with your windows 7 media follow the instruction
when partion option will come just choose custome
Don't format your windows partition Just click on your first partition & click next to start the windows installation.

Windows 7 have a very good feature that it does not require to format the previous windows to install new windows, it just create old & new windows folder in your c drive & your data will not lose
after installation you can check your c drive your all file will be their
