Antivirus can't terminate threat

When I run the antivirus, it finds a threat on the removable HD, G:\atfc.pif, I think it's a sality, I runned sality killer yesterday, and it removed the virus from the whole computer, except from the removable disc.

when I open the G unit, I dont see the file, even if I put windows to show hidden files. I can't even delete it by using command line, seems that only the antivirus can see it, but can't terminate it.

I apologize and I don't know if this is too simple an idea but as no seems to have entered anything since your question in Sep... You mentioned that you had enabled showing hidden files but what about showing system files?

Some A/V programs may not entirely get rid of a threat. Sometimes it may take another A/V or manually getting into say for instance the registry to finally oust an unwanted item. There are free A/V programs around that may prove helpful in some circumstances such as superantispyware or malwarebytes (both I think I have seen on cnet's download.com) which also have their own web sites up.

If you do locate a file that is on the HD it might have set itself up as a read only or other special permissions that might make it hard to remove in which case there are special file deletion programs around or perhaps simply changing the attributes of the file will be enough.

I hope it is of some help if you have not already fixed your issue.

Take care,
