How to enlarge Windows 7 Partition

284 100+
I buy a laptop in which windows7 is already installed , I have around 320 GB hardrive but one paritioned that is c: show only 282 GB in which windows7 is installed and other partinoned d: is showing 2GB.

Now, as at c: windows is installed so i want to put by data on other pariton but its too small. How can I enlarge my partion d: or create new partitions taking space from c: with out formating my hardrive or disturbing windows install.

I want to make my c: drive around 50 GB and rest on other.

Firstly you need to make sure you don't disturb you windows recovery partition that is typically around the 2GB size but also hidden on the whole.

That said you could try the GPartd live cd. This will run a linux system and the linux gpartd partitioner directly from the cd and should enable you to resize your partitions successfully.

That said doing anything with partitioning is dangerous and can potentially destroy data so back everything up first.

And finally if you do follow this advice and loose all your data I am accepting no responsibility for it.

As BanFa said when you plan on playing with partitions PLEASE make a partition Backup first(TODO BACKUP by EASYUS) to an exsternal HDD,To MOVE your partition in size Download EASYUS partition manager IT will allow you to rwsize the partition with in windows(I personaly use it many times and every time windows booted with no errors ) you can even create a new partition.. BUT be warned

If the 2GB Is your recovery Partition I hope you have made your RECOVERY disks of you windows os and drivers.

PLEASE PLEASE first make a BACKUP of the C: and D: with a cloning software BEFORE atempting any changes to your partitions...

And Like Banfa said "And finally if you do follow this advice and loose all your data I am accepting no responsibility for it."

You Do THIS at your own risk.
