Has anyone reported KB2482017 causing JavaScript errors?

I posted this question in the JavaScript area as well:

Cumulative Security Update KB2482017 was installed on our network in December. Our client workstations run Vista and IE7. Since then an 8 year old legacy web-site is affected. This classic ASP application uses JavaScript to render events on a Gantt-like calendar and to apply Parent-Child tree functionality to the organizations. The tree functionality appears to work properly but the events are not being "drawn" properly. All the events are "shoved to the left side of the screen and appear to have lost their calculated X, Y plot values.

When KB2482017 is uninstalled, and IE7 is restarted the problem goes away.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I have noticed the same thing on Windows XP on both IE7 and IE8. It seems ok on Windows 7. I did some digging and it seems that the VML rendering was changed. Check out this VML sample with the patch applied. Many of the js drawing libraries use VML as their IE canvas fallback.

More info 3/11/2010 - It seems there is an interaction with McAfee HIPS.

I work for a large bank and we are also seeing strange behavior with this patch. We have some JavaScript on an internal application that looks through all of the A tags & INPUT elements and applies event listeners on the ones with a specific class. We are using the YUI library.

On some workstations with XP and IE8 users were seeing a popup message saying "Operation Aborted" when they tried to navigate away from the page that contained this JavaScript. We backed out the script and the users were able to use the site normally. Then we re-introduced it in our test environments and the users were able to reproduce the problem until their workstations were patched (once patched, the problem went away). We isolated the problem to this patch on two machines: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../MS11-003.mspx (KB2482017).

The two machines have this profile:
IE version : 8.0.6001.18702IS
OS Version: windows XP
JS DLL Version : 5.8.6001.22886
-and-
IE Version : 8.0.6001.18702c0
OS Version: windows XP
JS DLL Version: 5.8.6001.22886
