Why Windows display changes automatically?

Hello there!

I'm using Windows XP SP2 in acer brand computer. From recently, my windows display changes automatically as "brightness=0" without pressing menu below screen.

However, I'm using McAfee antivirus and it's defination file are also updated frequently thinking that the system may be affected by virus. But it seems not working.

My doubt is non other then the virus. So, can anybody could help me please?

If you are saying that the brightness on your monitor is changing like if you pressed the menu button on the monitor and set it to 0, then it is a monitor issue and not a computer software problem. There is no virus that can control your monitor settings, only the display driver settings in your PC
