eSATA bandwidth question

At work our backup process includes rotating in and out some external hard drives. To do this we are using eSATA with this card http://www.amazon.com/Iogear-RAID5-External-2-port-PCI-Express/dp/B001A4Y6IW/ref=sr_1_2?tag=slickdeals&ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qi d=1266443148&sr=8-2 The data is copied from External Drive 1 to External drive 2 and then Drive 2 is taken off site and replaced with drive 3 and 4 as time goes on.

Anyways my question is this transfer is taking along time because of the size something around 1TB, Does eSATA cut the bandwidth in half because its reading from drive 1 and writing to drive 2? If so how can I make this faster? Could I purchase another eSATA card? so each would have its own controller? or do Dual Controller cards exist? Or would this not even help?

Thanks for your help.
