The Service Failed To Start Due To A Logon failure

233 100+
We have a few systems, one running XP Pro SP3, another running Server 2000 SP4, and another running Server 2003 SP2, each has at least one service that will periodically fail to start upon a reboot. The standard error message of "The service failed to start due to a logon failure" is received. If I try to start the service manually, I continue to receive the error message. The simple fix has been to reenter the password for the logon (domain account) that is set to start the service. Has anyone experienced this before? Is this due to a corrupt registry? What might I look into to resolve this?

Hi. It sounds like it could be the registry.
