Hello,

First of all, if IEXPLORER.exe is running, when you try shutting down your computer, then I assume that a hidden instance of the file is running in background. As this link says:

iexplorer.exe is a process belonging to the AdClicker advertising program. This process monitors your browsing habits and distributes the data back to the author's servers for analysis. This also prompts advertising popups. This process is a security risk and should be removed from your system.
You should therefore remove this file from your system. Try scanning your PC using good antivirus and anti spyware. If these programs detect it, then simply delete these files from your system. Alternatively you can also try scanning your system here.

If problem remains unsolved, then reply back. We will then try to manually delete the file IEXPLORER.exe

Hope this helps...

Hello,

OK here it goes.......

Start Task manager and click "Processes" tab. In the list titled "Image name", search for an entry corresponding to IEXPLORER.exe and right click it and then select "End process tree". Wait a minute to see if it comes back in the list. If yes, then tell me.
Now download Sysinternals Autoruns and run it. From 'File' menu click on find and search for Iexplorer.exe and then uncheck the entry next to it. Also, right click the same entry and select "Jump to". You will be taken either to some directory or to some registry entry.
1. If you are taken to directory/folder delete the file IEXPLORER.exe there. Make it sure that it is the original file and not a shortcut to Iexplorer.exe. If it is a shortcut try locating it's location by viewing the contents of shortcut file in Notepad.

2. If you are taken to registry then note the location of the file IEXPLRER.exe in registry entry and goto that location and manually delete the file.

Now restart your PC and then check out Task manager and Autoruns to verify that the file is removed.

Hope this helps....

First of all, what is exact name of file you are getting. Is it iexplore.exe OR iexplorer.exe?
Try searching manually for the name of file in autoruns.
Also, click "Start" --> "Search" and search for all files and folders with the name of the file. Delete all the entries corresponding to the filename.

Then reboot and check out task manager again.

Hope this helps....

Hello,

Donwload Process Explorer. Run it. It is a program similar to Task manager. When it is executed, it displays all running processes on your PC. In the list of processes in Process explorer, look for all entries "iexplore.exe" and in "Company name" column in front of it, look for company name. Reply back to me with company name.

Link to download Process Explorer

Hello,

It looks like some third party program messed up with your system (and IE).
Do you recently installed some software on your system? If yes, you can try restoring to some restore point (if there exists one).
Otherwise, open process explorer and right click "Iexplore.exe" and click on "Properties..". Then click on "image" tab in new window and in "Path" option look for the path of file. If it is "NOT" C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE, then goto that location and delete the file. If you dont use IE you can certainly consider deleting it (although it will be back in a few seconds) and immediately restarting your system.

Hope this helps.....
