Hello,

Do you mean to say that messages are in audio format? If yes, then you can try extracting both songs and messages from video and then use some audio editing program to remove the parts of vidoe that contain messages. For audio editing part, you can try Audacity.

Hope this helps....

In that case, you'll need a piece video editing software. I don't know a free one for Windows of the top of my head, but I'm sure you can find one. You'll have to cut the Music parts out with that.

There are several different types of software that will take the audio stream from a video and export the audio. I'm not to sure about free tools that do this, but i have used some a long time ago when Divx was more popular. check out Doom9.net - The Definitive DVD Backup Resource and Club CDFreaks - Knowledge is Power - Powered by vBulletin. Both of these sites have a lot of great tutorials and links to tool in dealing with audio/video editing. Most of those tutorials are based upon creating backups of a movie, but some of them should deal with extracting audio separately. Good Luck!

Wait, I think I see where you're trying to get to (and ambr in post 4 also).
You want the background music from a video, without the voices from the actors, right?
Don't believe it is possible, it's like mixing two fluids and then asking how to get one of them back out of the mixture.

But (as I said in #4), Isn't it possible that if I first extract the complete audio from video and then I edit the output audio file to remove those parts that I dont want?

it's like mixing two fluids and then asking how to get one of them back out of the mixture.
And for all these years I thought that we can separate two mixed fluids. Damn it...WTF they taught me at school :(....They told me that we can separate fluids using Distillation, immiscibility of layered liquids, Fractionation. Now I realise the truth.....:) thanks for telling this to me;).

@ambrnewlearner
Not without damaging the parts that you do want, unless the parts don't overlap.
@ambrnewlearner
Ok, bad example...
But you can't do that to every mixture, right?

I think that there is some confusion over what you exactly want. If you could answer these questions it should help.

1. Is the message audio or video or both
2. Does the message overlap the song (play at the same time)
3. or is there a song then message then song then message.... etc

What I'm trying to get at is. If the message overlaps the song then it would be impossible to seperate the two. But, if they follow each other then any quality video editor would do for cutting out the sections that you don't want and splicing the remainder togeather.

Exactly...No doubts about this now.

Ok, bad example...
But you can't do that to every mixture, right?
Yeah....You are probably right. But I am not sure. I am manufactured with the tag "Incompatible with chemistry and related subjects";)

You are going to need some video editing software, I use Sony Vegas Movie studio but you could probally find something free on the web. Just google "Video Editing Software".

Whatever software you use the procedure is basicly the same, hi-lite the areas you don't want and cut them out. Then splice the remaining sections back togeather and save the file.

You may also have to find some software to convert the google format to AVI or MPG for whatever software you're using.

video = the images
audio = the sound

'video' is also commonly used as the word for sound and images.
So if I get it right, you want to have the parts of the video (sound and images) with the songs, and not just the audio from it.
You're working on XP, so Windows Movie Maker (should have been installed together with Windows), should be good enough.
