Force Opening a .doc file

Hi,
I want to open a .doc file in html browser.
I have given a link but when I click on it,it gives 3 options
Open,Save,,Cancel.

I want either to remove the Save button or to open the file directly.
Please help me out.

Can u explain further? Not sure what you are trying to do or exactly where Java comes in...

Agreed - this sounds more like an OS Problem (probably Windows). Should this thread moved to the Windows Forum? (Or Linux / Unix / BSD Forum for that matter?)

I think that's where it belongs (windows). Unless the OP tells us more which it appears they are not keen on doing...

For now, why not just click the Open button and get over with it? Then leave the Save button alone! :)

Alex.

To clarify further:

I dont want the user to save the file(.doc) anywhere else when he is opening.I just want him to view it and further I want that if he makes any changes then they should be reflected to the sources where the file is pressent.

For this I want to remove the Save option that comes when a download window opens up

If I make some changes in OS(windows) setting then this will happen in all the downloads options.
I just want it in a particular download option.

Thanks

OK, as the user posted the same question in the Windows Forum anyway, I'm moving this thread there and deleting the identical (but answerless) other one.

Hello,

Google is your friend
If I understand your problem correctly and if you use IE6 and Windows XP then this link will help you out.

For other browsers and OSes, GOOGLE will help......

Hope this helps.........
