Hello,

Although I dont know the exact solution to this problem but I think I can offer some help.

When I first read this problem (I was with my friend), he suggested that there's some problem with SMPS (Switched-mode power supply) but I dont think tha it's the problem. Still you can contact your local vendor to check your PC hardware.

Also post the contents of file C:\boot.ini.
And see if any of functions keys (specially F8) on your keyboard are stucked inside (or are pressed).
Also, if you select safe mode does your windows OS starts in safe mode?
Post the version of Windows OS you are using.

Post back your observations....

Hope this helps.....

Hi

Your Windows need fixed. To start Windows, try choosing option "..start Windows with Last known good configuration..."

Once Windows is up, backup your data first before attempting to fix your Windows.

An easiest way for your to fix it is to reinstall Windows. There are other things you can do i.e perofrm ful anti-virus scan, spyware scan, etc

Moreover, you can use system restore wizard to restore your Windows to a date when it was working fine. System restore is in Start -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore

Hope it helps

Before I suggest something, I would like to remind you that you have not answered my questions which I posted in last reply of mine. And so if you feel that (atleast) I should answer your questions then post the answers to all my questions.

1. Please answer all my previous questions.

2. When PC starts, press F8 and try to boot into some other mode (safe mode etc.). If that works, backup all your important data.

3. If you are not able to log into your windows then you can try repairing windows (you will need XP CD for that). More instructions here.

4. What happens when you select "Start Windows normally". Post a detailed reply of events which happen after you choose Start windows normally.

5. If nothing works (and you want to backup your data) you can go for some Live CD. If you used to windows OSes only then you can try BartPE CD or if you are used to linux then you can try Damn Small Linux. For any help regarding linux you can try posting to Linux forum at bytes.com.

HOPE THIS HELPS.....

Hai frndz,
I did above points which u said. but its not booting. so finally i removed my Hdd(A) and connected with gud working PC, n then Scan with Updated Antivirus we found ther is no Virus threat or other Bad sector in Hdd(A). i took back up of all documents, formatted all Partiotions of Hdd(A) from working PC. again i connected the Hdd(A) ot the old PC and installed OS again. Now its working well !!!
Can any one say the exact reason/cause for this problem n how can i solve it?

It will be hard for anyone to say for sure what the problem is because there are to many unknown factors. Identifying problems like that can be a difficult task in person, but it's way harder to tell someone how to troubleshoot it. I think you should be glad you got your files and things are working as they should. I know its a pain to have to back up your files and reformat but we have all been there many times and sometimes we are not so lucky as to be able to recover our old files.

hey, i dunno if i should say this but, lets just try, do you have important files in the current user?, back it up.

now go to control panel-> create another user-> set it as administrator-> log off-> login to the new admin-> delete the first user-> reboot,

see whats the diffrence,
