Blocking a services that runs at a certain time.

I have a computer on a network and around 10:00 the server (I believe) forces my computer to run the anti virus scan (scan32.exe). As soon as it starts it slows my computer way down. Everyday I goto the task manager and end the proceess and the scan stops and it doesn't run again till the next day. Is there a way to block that process from running. It is mcafee anti virus which gets its information from some central server. I can write a program to check the services for scan32.exe and kill it (at least I'm pretty sure i can), but I was wondering if there was a MS way of blocking such a service from running. Or, any other ideas?

If you have administrative rights you can just use the McAfee console to change or remove the full scan time. If you don't have adminstrative right speak to your system administrator about changing the scan time.

also BECAUSE you are stopping the scan it may be causing it to run every day instead of just the once a week.

it is not really a good thing to be doing this in the way that you are and if I were the network admin I would not be happy with this especially you writing a program to stop the service so I would recommend as above just speaking to your Admin and explaining the issue you are having and ask him if the time can be ammended.
