Folder name in blue instead of standard black

553 512MB
Hi

I have one folder inside System32 that displays its name in blue color , all the other folders have thier name in black.

Can anyone explain why this folder could have changed its name (its a video card driver folder)/

And how can i manually change color of any folder like this if i want to do so?

Thanks
Qi

It sounds like its a compressed folder.

I don't think you can change the color of the folder name text.

I would guess, the harddrive that file is on is formated with NTFS? The thing is, NTFS offeres the option to compress certain files / directories or even the whole hard drive. If you rightclick on the blue folder and choose "settings" (or is it called "options"? I don't know, I don't use any english Windows), you should be able to deactivate the compression somewhere and vice versa.
So yes, you can therefore change the color a folder is displayed in, however you're not only changing the color but also compressing the file.

you dont need to unable compression to change the color back, there is a simpler way while keeping it compressed

open up my computer
click on tools
folder options
veiw
and near the bottom of the list uncheck the box that says:
show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color

it is that simple and it still saves space on your computer
