Messed up registry!!!!

The other day I was messing around in regedit (I know very bad idea, ive learned my lesson). I messed up something and know when my computer starts up it uses the old style of windows startup where it asks for username and password even though I'm the only user. When i start task manager it also uses the old format. The only real problem ive had was that in my yahoo messenger none of the words show up. It says I have received a message and a window pops up but there aren't any words.... If anyone knows the solution to this problem I would be deeply greatful for advice. Thanks.

Edit 1:All I remember is going into current user---system---microsoft.
But I couldve very easily accidentally gone somewhere else...

I would roll back your system with System Restore to the day before you messed with the registry.

I would try to rollback the system, but if that doesn't work there are programs out there that scan the registry for errors and can fix some problems (although it sounds like you changed some sort of window style which those registry scanners would ignore). You can also download a tweaking program (XQSeupt, or TweakUI) and look under the window style options (be careful with what you change with these tools too!). As for having to log in each time, I believe under the User & Groups (in the Control Panel) you can access the options under them and there is a check box to automatically sign in as that user, I can't remember exactly where but a quick Google should pull that up. If you have any problems let me know.

I beleive there is a back up wizard you can use. I haven't done it for a while and it would depend on which OS you have. But im pretty sure there is a wizard
