I have been having a really frustrating problem.. Msn messenger (or is it called Live messenger now?) is not logging on. I currently use version8 of messenger and am running it in Vista. Any help will be really appriciated

My guess is its Vista :P
Have you tried to uninstall it and they do a reinstall? (MSN Messenger not Vista)

Yes i have tried that. Is there any other im through which i can log in to my msn messenger, and the web messenger is a complete disaster! takes forever to load.
I'm not sure exactly what the problem is, but I do know that I was running vista for a couple month and I had a lot of problems with programs taking EXTREMELY long to load, esp apps that needed a internet connection to run,
What versions of this software are you running. I will attempt to download it and install in on my machine with Vista.

I use version 8. I know what you mean.. i guess about a year ago it was nice using vista.. exciting even, but now it is plain frustrating with ie and everything running at snails pace.

Unfortunately I am having troubles with my Vista lol. I downloaded and installed version 8 ( it took what seemed like a life time) and after i installed in things started to go screwy with my machine. I'm not quite sure if it was the program that is cause the error or what, but my machine is on turtle speed.
I apologize, hopefully when i can correct my problem it will help to solve yours.

please post your system specs.
until i see your specs all i have you try is:
uninstall msn messenger
download/install the latest flash update
run windows update, get all high priority updates
redownload/install msn messenger
also make sure your system time is correct (the clock on the taskbar)

You can try trillian, it's an IM-program made to keep all your contacts from other IM-programs together (MSN, but also yahoo and some others)

I seemed to have solved the problem... The real villain turned out to be my wireless modem. Once i switched back to my old modem, the problem was solved.. and voila msn messenger et all started working.
