DirectX Problem - Microsoft Windows

Hi every budy

I have a problem in my pc. Directx 8.1 is installed in it, but when I m going to install 9.1c it is not being installed properly. I thought, for Avg anti virus it is getting prob, but after disabling AVG, the prob is still there.

Symptoms ---- Installation process is showing that it is finished properly but it is not restarting the PC after installation. After manual restart It is showing directx 8.1 not 9.1c.

Pls help me out......

Before trying to say it is anything... have you tryed uninstalling DX??

and installing fresh 9.0c?

I would try that

Ya I have tried to install 9.0c over existing 8 but not working. will u pls tell all the process of un-installing directx.
