Registry Not Opening

Regedit not opening.
No window prompt is opening nor showing any error.

Went throught GPEDIT.MSC marked it to not configured. Still not working.

Also given
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Pol icies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

in START > RUN

still not working.

Pleaase suggest.

Note: CMD and TASKMANAGER is also not opening.

Hi indranilchaudhuri!

That sounds pretty bad - have you scanned the computer for viruses thoroughly?

If you have (or as soon as the viruses were removed), find out, if the files still exist. (%WINDIR%\regedit.exe, %WINDIR%\system32\TASKMGR.EXE, %WINDIR%\system32\CMD.EXE) If so, try starting them directly.

Does that help?

Greetings,
Nepomuk
