.NET update preventing standby mode

On Lenovo notebook running Windows XP Pro SP2 when I attempt to go to 'standby' mode I get message that .NET upgrade v1.1.4322 is preventing going to standby.

Has anyone seen this or have an idea for me?

Hi gator69uf welcome to TSDN,

try running windows update, it should be in the list there. It should download faster from there.

good luck

Hi - I ran Windows update and it had no updates available. Everyone I kow is stumped on this one. Apparently Lenovo has not customer service, their sales department referred us to IBM, and IBM customer service suggested we search the Microsoft site :(

Yep. It's a common problem. Here is what Microsoft has to say about it.
