BIOS Version Update - NEED or DON'T NEED?

P: 9
I looked up my system information and discovered that my BIOS is dated back to 4/25/2003 version 4.

I looked up the website for where my computer is manufactured and found that there is a now a version 10.

I am well aware that updating your BIOS can cause major problems if it is not done correctly.
So my question is do I need to update my BIOS to version 10? Would it be best?

If I do, can I jump from version 4 straight to version 10? Nothing bad will happen from jumping versions right?

Last and final question, how can I make sure that I do it correctly?

Only simple and clear explanation and answers will be understood. Please keep this in mind and keep your answers on the point of topic and simple and clear. Thanks.

an update isn't needed unless you're noticing problems with your system, or u just feel the need to.

Normally it doesn't matter if u jump version cuz your not really "updating" cuz what it does it flashs the bios (its like formatting) and installs the new version.

Usually the motherboard provider will give u instructions on how to correctly install a new BIOS on their site....where u are downloading the file.

hope that helps,
good luck
