Found in the Articles section. It's an easy mistake to make, but you'll find that you may not ever get a response in there.

Alittle reading:
NTFS vs. Fat

if u install Windows Me and below they will not be able to access the NTFS harddrive or partition. The same for if u installed Linux or any non-M$ OS.

I never used a win2k OS cuz...i heard bad things.

XP is newer than 2000, it should fix the errors in 2k, increase security, etc.

what are u looking to use this computer for? that can help determine which OS would be best for your needs.

W2K was not too bad. I used it for a short time. It's nice and light-weight (not very many processes running). W2K and XP are both NT derivatives, so the foundational stuff feels very familiar.

The big difference in modern Windows installations is between XP Home edition and XP Pro. Much of the enterprise connectivity is blocked in Home (you won't be able to connect to a domain - only simple file sharing is available - for example). XP Pro is worth the added $, I think.

of course u never go home, always go pro...just like vista getting the basic version is a waste of money should just get ultimate. I like having the full package so i can get everything :D
