to figure out which version you have, open internet explorer, click help->about internet explorer
and it should tell you the version number in there

if you want to diable script debugging go into (with ie open) tools->internet options
click the "Advanced" tab
under the category "browsing" put a check in the boxes that say "disable script debugging (internet explorer)" and "disable script debugging (other)"
click applly/ok

your done.

good luck

Thanks. That helps a lot. Make sure that you have all the service packs installed. The latest is Service Pack 4 (be sure to install them in order of release). And do upgrade to IE7 (you'll know when you've got it - the stock options make it look very different than old IE).
