Select User after Hibernation

Somehow my computer decided that when it hibernates, I must select which user I am before it awakes. It didn't use to do this, it just woke up, yawned, stretched, and was ready to go. Now I have to tell it that I am the only user of record, which it should know, and then it wakes up.

How do I put it back so I don't have to continually select from a list of one?

Thank you for the quick reply. However, if the answer is there, I can't find it.

I am the only user of this computer. I have "Guest" turned off. When I boot, I get the desktop, taskbar, and any programs opened at StartUp displayed. No Logon screen, no entry of my name, no password requests. Simple. My password is the key to my front door. If anyone gets by that, they have full use of the computer.

So I guess my question is: how do I not display the UnHibernate Welcome Screen?

just turnoff your hybernate tool. or
your PC is standalone or workgroup or domain.
if it is not a standalone then check any remote users or there or not, iy any one is there just disabled that accont.
set one pass word to your admin account (wheather you have to know the hybernate is done by your account or any one).
go to desktop properties---screensaver----poweroptions-----advanced----check the box of "prompt for password...." apply ---o.k.
give me reply what happened.

Correct, this is a Laptop. Although I do have it networked to the desktop, the issue does not go away even if it has not been "connected" to internet or desktop for many reboot cycles over many days.

Both Desktop & Laptop do the same thing when awakening. A black & white DOS looking screen, with a "Resuming Windows . . ." status bar. When the bar reaches 100%, the screen goes black for a few seconds. It then displays the desktop for 2 seconds, and then the screen to choose which user.

I don't think I want to check the box "Prompt for Password". These kind of things have a way of remaining permanent. I may then have to use a password every time I turn on the computer. I would prefer selecting from my list of one than having to have a password.

I know why you don't want to use Shutdown every time - I use sleep mode for a month at a time. I've never used Hibernate on a desktop because it seemed like overkill. The answer may lie in the Screensaver adjustments in Display Properties. There is a "Prompt for password" option on the Advanced tab, but it says "on resume from standby". Give that a shot and let us know how it turns out.

Hey, I got rid of the annoying screen. However, the Microsoft God is now punishing me for doing so.

I went into Control Panel and tried the various suggestions. None worked. But they did work, but required a re-boot, unbeknownst to me. I just rebooted the Laptop, and my problem is solved. However, now Excel loads and ALWAYS marks the macros as disabled. When I started Excel in the past, it always asked if OK to enable macros. I replied OK. Now it doesn't ask.

I get msgbox "The macros in this project are disabled. Please refer to the online help or documentation of the host application to determine how to enable macros." But this says if security = high I will get a prompt, which I don't. I know this forum does not deal with Excel, but is this really a Windows issue, as all attempts to find a solution seem to be Windows, not Excel, oriented.

I immediately ran System Restore. It did not restore back to before my 'tinkering'. On the laptop, I no longer have to click an icon after awakening from hibernation, but I no longer can run any macros in Excel or Word.
