Do you mean that you want to hide the prompt while you batch file is running?

well i made a batch file to run my java program, so i wouldn't have to type "java blah" everytime into the cmd prompt, but i don't want to see the cmd prompt in the background.

is there a line i have to add to it (at the top maybe) that will hide or make the cmd prompt invisible?

I'm surprised that you can't just double click the java file to make it run.
Here's what I would do:
Create a new shortcut. Put the path and command in the respective entries. Double click the shortcut.

You can put an @echo off at the beginning of the batch file to have the output hidden.
