uninstall Issues

Have you ever installed a program and then when you uninstall, it keeps the files behind. Or does not do the uninstallation at all? What causes this and what can be done to make sure your computer is clean of the files?

if you were confident you could go into the registry and delete any entries affiliated with that particular application(if you felt comfortable)? including unregistering any dlls ocx etc that it uses, and manually deleting all files (basically manually doing what an uninstall wizard does) :)
