Cannot access drives from lan

hi
can any one help me
if i ping from my server to local lan it's pinging
but if i use to access one drive from server is not possible

hello motoma thanks for reply and sorry for my description

we have one server in office in that d, e, f like dirves are there
if we try to access drive d from our lan it's showing cannot find path
and we if we ping from server to lan it's pinging..

what else u need motoma i will reply now or later because i want to move from office


and one more problem is my madam is using usb to laptop hard drive connector to connect externally
previously it's working and O.S is XP ,
now its not connecting and asking for driver if we try to install driver in devic manager that too what option i got is reinstall driver, if i click that it will search for a while and then says it din't find any...
any solution ...

Have you enabled file sharing on the drive? Is the firewall blocking it?
A good test would be to see if you can access the share from the local machine:

Go to Start>Run, and then enter \\computername\sharename
and click OK.

You may need to use the administrative shares to access the drives if you haven't specifically shared them. You would do this by entering the drive letter followed by a $ as the sharename:
\\computername\d$

Try downloading updated drivers from the hardware vendor. For instance, if it is a Western Digital USB Hard Drive, try searching on Western Digital's website for drivers.
