Ok but then maybe I wasn't specific.I want to rename the domain in Active Directory. Not the domain controller name. So is what you telling me really going to do that? My company domain is "Company.com" all the workstations are joined to it. Now I want to rename the domain and make it be "Company.local" and then join all the computers to that new domain. So I want to rename a domain. So please help me guys.

I don't know if this is possible but if it is how do I do it? and I've never worked with windows server 2003 before so I've got zero experience.

Before you change domain name please make sure that nobody is on the network and you have hours ahead of you in case something does not work out to bring it back.

Here is the tool you will need Windows Server 2003 Active Directory Domain Rename Tools

Best luck, Cyber.
