Depending on the OS, get back to us with the right info.

Are you using ...

Windows XP ?
Windows 2000 ?
Windows 98/ME ?

Let us know.

1. Read the laptop manual to see if there is a button that enables wireless NIC.
2. Or it may need a key sequence to enable wireless NIC
3. Go to Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager & under Network Adaptors, make sure that your wireless NIC is listed and not crossed out in red. If in red, repeat steps 1 or 2 above.
4. You may need to load the wireless NIC driver as well...until you get rid of the red X
5. Check that both computers are in the same workgroup, such as MSHOME. Start>Control Panel>System>Computer Name>Workgroup

Good luck!
