System Resets Automatically

Bhanu Murthy
I am using Windows 98. My system is P IV 2.4 Ghz. I am using for the past 6 months.. No problem. But from yesterday onwards,

my system resets automatically, whenever I click mycomputer or mydocuments. I am able to open applications through start->programs->msword etc., I shall be thankful if any body give solution to fix the problem.

with regards

Hello Sashi,

Nice to get u.

No Error messages. No fresh installation either hardware or software side.
It is surprising. I have no time to diagnise the problem.
I thought our friends might have experienced this problem and there is a solution..
Let us wait for some time, otherwise, I will personally diagnise the problem when ever I find time then we will share.

with warm greetings and regards

Sounds like a virus to me. Can you run regedit?

run a test on your memory and hard drive. try booting into safe mode by pressing F8 and see if the computer restarts when you open my computer or my documents
