I've this problem! I'm running a business application on 10 computers. On 2 of them when I execute a query I obtain an out of memory error!

The computers have the same configurations and installations of software like the other 8 computers!

Changing the Ram cards didn't help!!!

Hi PEB,

What about the CPU resources used? if 70% or more resources used then you should scan for virus, take care my fren.. :)

In fact no more then 20-30% of CPU

And in Task manager there is not red values for the memory ressources...

I think maybe that is a hardware problem!

It's not a virus because I've reinstalled Windows with formatting on the hard disk!

And the same problem continus!

A few helpful hints

Go to Run, type in msconfig, in the last tab turn off any programs you don't need, for me I turned off everythign except antivirus.

Run Disk Cleanup

Run Disk Defragmenter

Make sure startup items is empty

Now test it

Right click on your computer and go to properties > advanced under performance hit the settings button and advanced again here see what the total paging size is for your computer and also you might want to add some more memory to it and adjust the programs/background services options.

Try to recreate the moment when the computer comes up with the out of memory issue and monitor your resources cpu/mem and see if it really goes out of memory at that instace or is it just a software related error, in that case check your eventlog for problems, you can do this by going to start>run and type in eventvwr.

Good Luck.

Thank you a lot!

I've tried everything! In fact this is software generated error! When observing the environnment variables and the CPU and memory usage there isn't significant charges! So the problem isn't from the hardware!

In the log events there isn't reports for errors for this!

I've done an other test! I've changed he disk with an other with approximately the same configuration, but with this disk there wasn't the error!

And the software on the 2 disks is the same! The same installation disks of Windows and Office /of course different licence keys/, the same programs!

Really it's annoying!

Thank you a lot for your suggestions!
