%SystemDrive% folder appeared on my desktop

2 New Member
I was cleaning up an external storage media and a folder called: %SystemDrive% appeared on my desktop. When I click on it, it contains a folder called:
ProgramData, with these folders as follows:
When I click on Cashes I get a list of data base files. Can I put this folder back where it belongs? It is a hidden folder inside windows(C). Actually, the ProgramData folder is what is inside windows(C). I think %SystemDrive% was created to store the folders and data base files. Any idea of how to put it back or is it safe to remove it? Any help would be really appreciated.

If you do not know how to fix this, then I humbly suggest that you do a full backup of your computer before attempting to fix it. Do not even take it to a "computer expert" until you do a full backup.

EASEUS Todo Backup 1.1 works for 32 bit systems.
Later versions are available.

Do not wait.

Do the backup.

This sounds serious. I backed up all my data. I donít plan on deleting the file. I will leave it on my desktop to remind me to try to find more on this problem. What would you do with the file?

"% SystemDrive%" is a Windows system environment variable that indicates the drive on which the OS is installed.
That is, the entity is in a folder where you have replaced %SystemDrive% with the drive on which the OS is installed (for example, C :).
These are like folders that store digital certificates for Microsoft applications.
Let's examine this folder.
I think it has the same folder structure and files as "% SystemDrive%" on the desktop. I think it's a backup created during cleanup.

But not enough info to give me the confidence to just move it. This is on an HP laptop running XP home, so...

For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
