Stack error: Error code:0x50012b8 PointSec Database corrupt.PsMain

At bootup this morning before displaying the Windows logo the following error string is displayed:

PsMain: 98bd
PsMain: 9b45
PsMain: 49d6b
PsMain: 3ca6f
PsMain: af6
PsMain: 78

I am able to get into the BIOS but that's all. I can't get it to bootup in safe mode or enter the PointSec encryption menu. Has anyone ever experienced this error and is there a way to fix without totally reinstalling the OS.

You can run repair of windows or try last good known configuration. What software are you running for the database?

Hi,

Use windows cd and chose R for recovery console. once you are in recovery console change to your cd drive and run fixboot for example d:\> fixboot c:

I have the same issue. the issue isn't with the installation of Windows. Its with PointSec. Its a hard drive encryption application. PointSec doesn't have any Knowledge base to access for troubleshooting this error.

Its not MFT, or MBR, or an NFTS issue. Its PointSec.

Most of the answer is <EDIT: Merged threads.> (Found by searching TheScripts for "psmain" - plus I had just seen it).

Yes it is Pointsec. You need your pointsec admin to create a recovery disk for you and provide you with a password. It will decrypt your HD and it is a lengthy process. It takes about 2-4 hours. After this you hd should boot up fine.

Hello. I am currently working through a book on Dreamweaver and using PHP. I am having a little trouble with setting up the database though. I have php 4.2.3 and MySQL 4.0.20a. I am running locally with Apache 1.3.27 on Windows XP Pro. I seem to have finally got MySQL running after a lot of difficulty. In the book it says to type source C:\mysql\newland_tours.sql at the mysql> prompt, to generate the newland_tours database in my...

CLI connection failed. SQL0902C. A system error (reason code="6029321") occurred. Subsequent SQL statements cannot be processed. SQLSTATE=58005. Has anyone encountered the above error? We are trying to connect to a v8 ESE database on AIX 5 from a v8 client on Windows 98. What the heck is "A file descriptor does not refer to an open file."??? In the db2diag.log, it recognized the client's IP address.

I use code extensively; I probably overuse it. But I've been using error trapping very sparingly, and now I've been trapped by that. A form that works for me on the system I'm using, apparently runs into problems on the system where it will actually be used, and since I used so little error-trapping it dies very ungracefully. I will of course try to fix whatever is causing the error and add error-trapping to the functions where the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
