Technology Refresh AIX 5.3 cgi web app to ???

3
I have been tasked with a technology refresh from an AIX 5.3 server platform, where we host a 'c' complied cgi web application.
I am looking for suggestions and recommendations / pitfalls that I may expect.
One of the primary requirements is that we move away from the IBM platform. (I may however, stay on a UNIX/Linux system.)

There are processes that run on this server that receive satellite data. All of the html pages and server processes are built in the AIX 'c' language.
