Why does zipped folder change size when uploaded

Hi Banfa

Chrissie here again, i was wondering if you can tell me please 'when i have a folder which is too large to send via e-mail. I zip the folder & start to send via e-mail..why does it come up with the same no. of bytes as it was before i zipped the folder.

hope you can help me please.

Well compression ratio largely depends upon type of file you are compressing for example a txt file can be compressed to much greater extent as compared to the video files no matter which compression utility you use.
